US Embassy Resumes Normal Consular Operations

KINGSTON- September 17, 2004:

The United States Embassy in Kingston announces that it will resume normal consular operations, including visa services, beginning Monday, September 20.

  • Immigrant Visa appointments will resume on Monday, September 20.  Those who have appointments beginning on Monday should appear as scheduled.  The Immigrant Visa Section will contact those persons whose appointments were cancelled due to Hurricane Ivan to reschedule their appointments.
  • Non-Immigrant Visa (NIV) appointments are now available.  Please schedule your interview on the US Embassy's Web site at http://usembassy.state.gov/kingston.  Those persons whose NIV appointments were cancelled due to the Embassy closure must reschedule through the Web site.
  • Passport/Visa Pick-Up for those persons who received visas will resume as normal, Monday-Friday, 1:30-3:00 p.m.
  • American Citizen Services will resume normal operations on Monday, September 20.
