U.S. Embassy provides grant for anti-corruption forum
The U.S. Embassy in Kingston recently presented a grant valued J$333,000 to the assist the Taking Responsibility Project to conduct a policy review and anti-corruption forum. The anti-corruption forum will be held at the University of the West Indies, Mona campus on Wednesday, May 9, 2007.
It will be the first in a series addressing policy issues raised during research work undertaken through the Jamaican Economy since Independence Project (JEP) from 2004 to 2006.
“Taking Responsibility” is a comprehensive, independent research project based at the University of the West Indies, Mona. Its aim is to provoke informed dialogue and policy changes in light of the upcoming general elections and beyond. The Project is led by an Advisory Committee comprising a group of Jamaicans from both the public and private sector.
