Studying in the USA
General Information
In 2004, more than 4,800 Jamaican students studied at colleges and universities in the United States. The Information Resource Center (IRC) offers an educational advising service to guidance counselors at schools and universities throughout Jamaica, to help them to better understand the steps for seeking admission, student visas and financial aid. The IRC also has information on a variety of standardized tests (e.g., TOEFL, SAT, GRE, GMAT) that may be required for admission. The Office of Public Affairs also organizes an annual International College Fair each autumn for Jamaican students wishing to study in the United States.
