Director of Public Prosecutions to Speak on the Role of the DPP in the Admininstration of Justice.

The Jamaica Fulbright-Humphrey Alumni Association (JFHAA), with the support of the U.S. Embassy’s Public Affairs Section, will host Paula Llewellyn, Q.C., Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), as the guest speaker at a seminar, “The Role of the Office of the DPP in the Administration of Justice in the 21st century” at the PCJ Auditorium, 36 Trafalgar Road, Kingston 10 on Monday, April 21, at 5:30 p.m. The event, which is free to the public, is the fourth seminar in the Fulbright-Humphrey Alumni Speaker Series.


Ms. Llewellyn is the first female to be appointed in the position as Director of Public Prosecutions in March 2008.  She is a member of the Jamaica Bar Association and has participated in the The Council Law Committee, The Law Reform Committee, The Legal Aid Committee and The Consultative Committee of the Bench Bar. Ms. Llewellyn is a graduate of both the University of the West Indies, Mona with a Bachelor of Law Degree, and the Norman Manley Law School where she attained the Certificate of Legal Education.

The JFHAA is an association of professionals who have been beneficiaries of U.S. Department of State’s Fulbright scholarships and Humphrey fellowships administered by the U.S. Embassy in Kingston. The mission of the JFHAA is to contribute to national development by initiating and participating in activities that foster advancement in education and the development of a civil society, while promoting mutual understanding through liaison with organizations of a similar nature.
