U.S. Embassy Announces extended opening hours for the Information Resource (Library) and EducationUSA Advising Center
The Information Resource Centre and the Student Advising Centre of the US Embassy in Kingston have extended their opening hours to between 10:00am and 3:00 pm. Tuesday to Friday. Appointments at the Information Resource Center (IRC), formerly known as the USIS Library, can be made by calling 702-6172 or 702-6163 at least 24 hours in advance.
The IRC provides information to individuals undertaking research projects related to the policies, culture, and programs of the United States. Using traditional print sources, CD ROMs, and the Internet, the centre also provides outreach and reference services to Jamaican government officials, academics, non-governmental organizations, and the general public.

The embassy’s Student Advising Centre has an extensive collection of materials on academic programs, scholarships, library, laboratory and lodging facilities, and entrance requirements to a wide variety of American colleges and universities. An Educational Advisor provides guidance to students who wish to study in the U.S.A. by assisting them in finding the right university, guiding them through the application process, and preparing them for life as students in the USA.
The IRC and Student Advising Centre are located at the U.S. Embassy, 142 Old Hope Road in Liguanea, St. Andrew.
