Second Passports
Generally, a U.S. citizen cannot have two passports of the same type, such as two tourist passports. There are exceptions, however, under certain circumstances. If you need an additional passport of a different type (i.e., official or diplomatic), please contact the American Citizen Services unit of the U.S. Embassy in Kingston (tel: 876-702-6450 between 7:15 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. -- or in person between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., Monday through Friday) or our Consular agencies in Montego Bay (876-952-0160 between 9:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday) or Grand Cayman (345-945-8173 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) for assistance.
All applications for second passports must be accompanied by any necessary fees and forms, two passport-size photographs, and, as appropriate, evidence of citizenship and identity. All applications must be accompanied by a written statement that sets forth the reasons why a second passport is required (i.e., travel orders for diplomatic passports).
