Specific Functions of DHSAdjudication of Relative Petitions, Forms I-130 Relative Petitions are accepted from Jamaican residents only. All approved petitions are forwarded to the U.S. Embassy Consular Section in Kingston, Jamaica.
Departure Verifications In order to verify departure from the United States, the subject must present him/her self to the Kingston DHS sub-office with valid identification and other supporting documentation such as a DHS Deportation Bond Contract or DHS Immigration Court Order.
Waivers of Inadmissibility This office is authorized to adjudicate applications for non-immigration waivers on inadmissible exclusion cases presented by the US Consulate. This office is also authorized to adjudicate applications for waiver of grounds of inadmissibility filed by nonimmigrant and immigrant visa applicants.
XA and NA Boarding for Admissions This office will process documentation for boarding and admission of certain Immigrant Children without Immigrant Visas. Children may be admitted as new immigrants without presenting an Immigrant visa under two circumstances:
A child born to an accompanying parent after issuance of an immigrant visa to the parent but prior to the parent’s initial admission as an immigrant (XA). A child, under 2 years of age, born during a temporary absence of a lawful permanent resident mother if the child is accompanying the parent who is re-entering the U.S. as a returning resident for the first time after the birth of the child (NA).
Transportation Letter Requests Transportation letters are issued to U.S. lawful permanent resident cardholders only, after each applicant is carefully examined to verify his/her immigration status. This process will take (4) to (6) weeks to complete, which will allow INS to positively identify all persons applying for a Boarding Letter.
