U.S. Embassy Consular Section to Close on Friday, February 8, 2008

The Consular Section of the Embassy of the United States of America in Kingston will be closed on Friday, February 8, 2008. The rest of the Embassy will remain open.

Subsequently, there will be no visa interviews held that day.  Therefore, applicants who have visa interviews scheduled for February 8 have been rescheduled for the afternoon of either February 4 or February 11.  If you have not been informed of your new visa interview appointment date, please send an e-mail to consularkingst@state.gov with the subject line “February 8 appointment.”

Persons who have been told to pick up their U.S. Passport from the American Citizen Services unit on February 8, you may pick it up on Thursday, February 7 instead.   As always, emergency services for American citizens will continue to be available without interruption. American citizens with a bonafide emergency should call 702-6000. 
 
The Consular Section will re-open for business as usual on Monday, February 11, 2008.
