U.S. Embassy Closed Wednesday Afternoon until Thursday Noon 

July 6, 2005
 
Please be advised:  Due to anticipated extreme weather conditions, the U.S. Embassy will be closed to the public beginning on Wednesday, July 6 at 2:00 p.m. until Thursday, July 7, at 12:00 p.m.  All visa pick-ups scheduled for Wednesday afternoon and visa interviews scheduled for Thursday morning are cancelled.  Visa applicants should visit the U.S. Embassy Web site at http://usembassy.state.gov/kingston/ to reschedule their appointments.  U.S. Embassy services are expected to resume on Thursday, July 7 at 12:00 p.m. pending conditions on the island at that time.  Please stay tuned for further news bulletins from the U.S. Embassy.
 
American citizens present in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands who require emergency assistance during or after the storm should contact the U.S. Embassy at (876) 935-6000.  However, please note that extreme weather conditions may restrict our ability to communicate and provide emergency services.
